RockmusicRaider Review - Diabulus in Musica - Dirge for the Archons - Album CoverOften in the #metal universe a new album is somewhat of a Pandora’s Box. Or the bottle with the genie that once released won’t fit back into it. Now, I had somewhat of an issue with Argia last time we looked at Diabulus in Musica. And the juicy comments from some punks from the Ministry of Love to get lost over it were interesting too.

The dreary black career cliff a band must navigate around usually looms at the sophomore effort. With Diabulus in Musica it was the junior record that got them to this sorry chunk of rock. I was thus a bit wary of what I would find in DiMs latest and best.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

RockmusicRaider Review - Diabulus in Musica - Argia - Album CoverWhoa! Now some of the fans are going to be pissed off. So many very good reviews heaping praise on this record. And I just cannot get too warm with it.

We talk about Argia, the 3rd full length album of Diabulus in Musica. Oh yeah, ’tis the one – the much awaited and hyped about.

Once again, Argia is very complex fare, like their last one The Wanderer. And beautifully interpreted by Zuberoa Aznàrez, the delighting female front of this very talented band in tandem with Gorka Elso and the rest of the band.

Zuberoa and Gorka founded the band way back in 2006. It took them awhile to move to the front of the genre.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

Diabulus in Musica – The Wanderer (2012) – Review

RockmusicRaider Review - Diabulus in Musica - The Wanderer - Album CoverAt first sight the Spanish band ‘Diabulus in Musica‘ sounds like yet another upstart in the Gothic / Symphonic Metal genre – albeit a very talented one with ‘The Wanderer’. The name of the band derives from the famous tritone that was banned by the Catholic church to be used in their heavenly concoctions. LOL.

Sounds like we got new guys on the block, right? Well kind of – and after their first album ‘Secrets’, this second one ‘The Wanderer’ is good progress.  The production has a lot (or too much for my taste) of ‘Epica‘ in it and they have adopted many elements from early Nightwish and Within Temptation – like many others have done before them.Got hooked?
