Video: Deviser feature Black Mass with Sakis Tolis!

RockmusicRaider Video - Deviser - Black Mass - Howling FlamesSometimes marriages actually do work. Deviser – the Greek Black Metal band – and Sakis Tolis from Rotting Christ teamed up and released this tasty little video called Black Mass. All this ably supported by Sleaszy Rider Records

Whilst a bit simplistic and repetitive on structure, the raw Black Metal power and inherent melodic elements exert a pull that will make you come back for more. And don’t we like this kind of flavor. Dark, sinister and very ritualistic – with a hint of delicious evil just lurking around the corner, somewhere in the dark shadows behind the altar.

That said, the RockmusicRaider crew looks forward to the release of Deviser‘s upcoming EP Howling Flames.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Last Bullet - 80-69-64 - Album CoverI think the Canadians have a penchant for the South. It really looks that way. And who can blame them. Would you want to stay in the cold North when sun drenched highways, whiskey galore, bikes, dusty bars and hot chicks beckon you? Well, whilst most stay put, they at least portray this Southern Rock feeling through their tune. RockmusicRaider already covered bands like the folks from Vinyl Hero or others screaming about the soundscape in best Mad Max fashion. Albeit not from this genre.

Now, some folks make me want to break out the next bottle of bourbon when I start on their music.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

Newsflash: Project Renegade unchain Cerebra!

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Project Renegade - Cerebra - Album CoverThis strangely subdued combination of Evanescence, Lacuna Coil and a strong dose of Stream of Passion really got my attention at first. Just at the moment when the RMR office police was about to action the terrible delete button. Then some industrial grade ambients and juicy hooks got added to the fray and the RMR robocops took their leaves.

Cerebra is an intriguing tittle of an EP of some three short tracks. The Greek female-fronted foursome Project Renegade run a cunning mix of juicy metal. The record features alternative, ambient, electronic elements intertwined with dark metal riddled riffs and a pretty heavy, but never overwhelming drum work.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

RockmusicRaider Video - Godhead Machinery - Praise The Flesh - Song CoverMusic videos are legion. You find all sorts, usually with bands showing off in egocentric theatrics. Jumping about in wild metal bliss, as if the punk movement got some sort of satanic revival.

Only some bring real sustenance to a metal heart with its sometimes unholy hungers. Those deliver stellar film work, supported by their trademark tune. And others just bring you an intriguing sound that will stick to you like this elemental living in your attic, to haunt you every night.

Godhead Machinery just released such a piece called Praise The Flesh. This eerily melodic Extreme Metal mix oscillating between the unholy disturbances of Darkend and the incantations of Dark Portrait just irresistibly draws you in.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

Newsflash: Ov Shadows get us Monologues!

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Ov Shadows - Monologues - Album CoverDo you remember Darkend or Dark Portrait with their somewhat insane incantations? For both you could just feel the Dark Lord rising to prominence or sense the arrival of the child-eating Lamia. Juicily daemonic and almost disturbing, right? So, we thought it could get no better. Or more menacing for that matter. Well, wrong – so wrong.

From the ashes of the Swedish band Waning rises Ov Shadows. And it is a cold, icy storm that their début EP Monologues unleashes onto these unsuspecting earthlings surrounding them. Supported by the folks of Xperiment XIII.
