Newsflash: Lauren Babic has Too Much and Never Enough!

Lauren Babic - Too Much and Never Enough - Album Cover

Those who have followed the RMR zine for a while, probably discovered that we like the unexpected and the weird. Genre-benders that go out on a limb to stand out and shine. But only if the stuff they strut is well done and has some valor attached.

Meet Lauren Babic and her EP Too Much and Never Enough. She mixes synth-pop songs with some beatz and metallic musings. Something like Taylor Swift on speed from a dark and dystopian universe. First, you’ll get some poppy tunes thrown at ye. But those morph quickly into some caustic Punk attack. All of that roars in on some crazily tilted dissonant Heavy Rock gone tech death, together with Death- and Metalcore, Lauren Babic style. Does that sound crazy enough? Actually, it’s worse.

The aforementioned bedlam goes hand in hand with the soft vocal crooning for the lighter parts that shouldn’t work with the core-ish punk-laden screams for the rest of this short blurb. Put differently, you’ll get a potent rock fest of (pseudo) melodic neat little shiny nuggets that tend to explode in your face with some decent cosmic energy. Not something you should enjoy with your loudspeakers on full tilt. Your eardrums might burst, else.

In short, Too Much and Never Enough turned into a neat yet ferociously brutal piece of rock that made us yearn for that upcoming full-length piece. We got just one warning: Don’t let her get bored, you’ll pay for that with wiolence.

Oh, and Lauren? Fuck you, too.1
