I never knew diving into metal at large would make one appreciate classical music more than you’d ever imagined. Haunting themes straight from the opera stage, ferociously shredded to fit the metal narrative. Unspeakable creations that you didn’t expect until you met their terrible fury. But all those classically trained ladies fronting many a band truly take the darkly metallic cake. Somehow the sugar-sweet high-pitched female offering goes well with all those Neanderthal musings Extreme Metal is full of.

Oh boy. Sometimes I’m glad that a band cheated, only delivered some 35 minutes of airtime, AND had the gall to call that a full-length album. This happens when the levels of metal intensity levels shoot straight through the roof. And we had attacks like that of bands with a serious speed problem in the past.

It’s for felt ages that the RMR crew tried to find more reasonably grinding Death Metal with an itch for outrageous tech and brutality. Instigate here pushed themselves to the forefront. But can they beat established Tech Death bands that made an appearance on … [...] Click to raid more!

It’s time to work on the leftovers from the Year of the Lord 2021. Those that were slated for review initially but for some reason never got enough attention. One of them is the – until recently – pretty much unknown band Sun of the Suns and their debut album TIIT.

And who ever said that we won’t be covering those joint Deathcore pieces anymore? The ones that gurgle themselves through a tasty Death Metal repertoire when they’re not busy ripping everyone a new butthole with their ‘core activities.

I got a headache. A big one. So, time to break out that Aspirin, will ya. Or I’ll probably die from metal poisoning, or – worse – turn into a metal zombie.

And this after only one full listen of Veleno, the newest heap of mighty Death Metal from the flamboyant Italians of Fleshgod Apocalypse.
