RockmusicRaider Review - Sirenia - The Seventh Life Path - Album CoverYou know, I like Gothic Metal and Symphonic Metal. I really do. It is usually more melodious and varied than the more straightforward types of metal that are existing out there. And after a weekend of down’n’dirty metal crunch, some Symphonic band-aid to soothe my bleeding ears is a welcome change.

But here I am listening to the Spanish/Norwegian Gothic Metal band of two+ Sirenia‘s latest studio album The Seventh Life Path. And already I am confused.

RockmusicRaider’s Intermittent Best of… – Tome II

Caladan Brood - RockmusicRaider Music Reviews It for sure feels like a gazillion of months since I first wrote the Tome I Best of earlier in 2015. But we are only a few months down the road and already a new one is due.

And the lyrics delivered by Liv Kristine Espenaes are up a notch too [...] Click to raid more!

Leaves’ Eyes – Symphonies of the Night (2013) – Review

   RockmusicRaider - Spotify Logo

RockmusicRaider Review - Leaves' Eyes - Symphonies of the Night - Album CoverWell, I will be damned! Symphonies of the Night is actually not bad at all. Still some sort of compound brand of the Symphonic Metal universe out there. But much improvement over the Norwegian/German band Leaves’ Eyes last record Njord I reviewed some time ago.

For those who have read it, the flat delivery of the last record did not impress me much. Not much substance and not much of anything else. That is why I did not even bother to have a look at their go-between Meredead from 2011, for which some of my co-conspirators had some serious [...] Click to raid more!
