The RMR crew just enjoyed a bout of olde thrash/trad goodness. Something so retro, it feels like a fucking time machine to the ’80s. But here, we got ourselves some young guns, comparatively speaking with some different flavor.
Enforced started back in 2016 and continued to move full steam ahead, brutalizing everything and everyone in its path. So far, RMR never had the pleasure to welcome them to our roster. And the experience for this short blurb has been like witnessing a bunch of MOABs (Mother of All Bombs) in uncontrollable detonations. A thunderous delivery that made us sit back and let the assault roll over us until the end finally came.
A Leap into the Dark sports one of the crustiest crossover Thrash that this crew came across to date. A manic force that whips their metal around yer heads like some whirlwind from hell emanating from Hardcore’s darkest dungeons. Relentless screamed vocals assault your eardrums at any turn on the EP. Whereas gritty guitars mercilessly churn out riffs until some mad shredding stops the action somewhat. Together with a few high-octane grimy solos that appear out of nowhere. All that mad velocity in search of a speeding ticket rolls in on blistering yet excellent drum work. Ferocious but plain good at the same time. And – whoever said that thrash has weak drumming? Well, we did, and we stand corrected – for once.
So, if you’re up to some truly feral aggression on steroids, hit play on A Leap into the Dark. You’ll be in for a treat of viciously violent aggression delivered in short savage bursts. These guys don’t just hit the pedal to the metal, they go full-tilt warp speed in search of a modern incarnation of Darth Vader or something.
So, here we are already. The RMR already hungers for more of this abject yet delicious barbarity. Let’s hope a new record will soon hit our turntables.
