It’s interesting how bands often meander away and morph into other styles – or no style at all. Which is – come to think of it – the way to go. The RMR deck crew had the folks over at Heiden down as Pagan and Black Metal from the Czech Republic. Yet, as we see more often than not, trve metal seems to lose its sharp edge after a while, and those outfits kinda drift off into the murky yonder. Often they wander into lands where the horned pagan gods and earth lore rule supreme. Or they visit other delights … [...] Click to raid more!
Maziac‘s last EP Permutations seriously got on our good side. The UK-based band truly excelled in this mix somewhere between Heavy Rock and Progressive Metal. A short yet intensive demonstration of that band’s already impressive musical prowess.
Now they’re on the prowl again with a new video to boot. Acid gets us another highly technical track of pretty masterful prog mixed with Heavy Rock. It’s – in itself – a typical Maziac creation and a straight continuation from their former piece.

Music is emotion, right? A visceral thing that’s not easily explained. It can be a true feel-good experience, or then again, something scary. Now, the RMR crew unearthed some truly dark and evil artists during our tenure. Psychopaths, like the ones that would kill people, had they not started to make music that greedily feeds their blackened and charred souls. And, in truth, some1) won’t ever make it onto the ‘zine – even if we have their files and numbers on record.
There are others, of course. But still, no creatures of the light, mind you. Bands that create … [...] Click to raid more!
It’s funny. The Atrophic is a new band. So new, they haven’t yet found a space in the mighty metal archives.1) And, for some reason, this band opines that – somehow – Technical Death Metal cannot be fun and is shunned by many – because it’s just noize hacked to death by metal-crazed technicians.2) Add melody and symphony to this shebang or ban all these clueless misfits to the 11th circle of hell.3)
Yet, once the RMR crew let Coagulating Mirth roar out of its cage, we were all ears. And indeed, their debut EP turned … [...] Click to raid more!
