I said it before. RMR seems to be forever failing on our quest to ram in a few Jethro Tull records. But it never happened (so far) and Ian Anderson only ever prominently appeared on the late Opeth album on this zine. Well, luckily, the folks over at Karisma Records seem to sport an unending supply of retro-rock bands. Mischievous goblins fond of the flute, old-style drumming, full of wonky synth sounds, oldish Hammond vibes, and screechy guitars drunk on wah-wah. RMR management bestowed themselves with a project. One that will – apparently – never happen. And this is to cover the best cuts of the mighty Jethro Tull. The forerunners of Progressive Rock, annoying escape artists running from the steely clutches of the guardians of ‘proper’ rock ‘n’ roll of times long past. And it’s a mighty task given that Ian Anderson’s artistic loins are so large. You’ll have trouble finding the right words – and enough time doing it.

A few weeks ago I went to the movies. Le Otto Montagne1 the film was called, and it played in Italian language only. A zero-action piece so contrary to the usual overwrought Hollywood productions, it almost hurt. Powerfully grand yet quiet pictures of mighty mountains, raw nature, and locals trying to eke out a living from this picturesque tract of land near to the Swiss border. A movie that had an almost visceral effect on many of the viewers.
