An early iteration of the RMR crew covered a first version of Zornheym‘s video, The Opposed back in 2017. But for some reason, the old geezers at the RMR review desk missed both full-length records following the clip, Where Hatred Dwells and Darkness Reigns, and The Zornheym Sleep Experiment. Don’t ask, we have no idea why no coverage was found over here twice in a row.
But fear naught, this time things worked out. The new clip, Somewhere Far Beyond, struck a chord and strongly so. And it is yet again the elaborate storyline propped on a catchy song that jolted us into action, just as some 10 years prior. Mystique and monsters, the ominous yet alluring dangers of the cold, wet deep were difficult to resist this time. And of course, Bendler and his undeniable qualities as an actor AND an established vocalist carried the flag yet again.
Zornheym‘s style also seemingly evolved away from the somewhat gruff mix of Death and Black Metal with benefits into a melodic mélange of highly melodic Traditional Metal and Symphonic Death Metal. The outcome is an astonishingly well-elaborated track that played on repeat for a while over at the RMR Office Tower.
That said, the RMR crew’s already looking forward to this fall when the band’s new piece, Descending Into Madness, will air. Meanwhile, here’s the brand-new track.
