Do have a care, will ya? Binding elementals will work through strong magick only. And if it goes wrong, you’re so much scorched toast – or turned into a toad to croak upon the world until it or you finally disappear, whatever comes first. So, powerful metal will be needed to cast spells that will hold the forces of evil at bay.
And in come Crown of Madness with their snazzy brand of Technical Death Metal that continually reminded me of sins that Abiotic and the sick-to-god Archspire already committed some time ago. Exactly the kind of red-hot metal the mighty magister ordered. The Sunshine Schneider / Connor Gordon tag team really pulled out all the stops for their newest EP Elemental Binding. This is a seethingly hot tech death performance with some pretty cool dissonance that we were looking for all those first months of 2023. Because, this new year kinda felt like somebody cut that cord that connected us to all that stellar tech metal from 2022.
So, here we are. Delicious unhinged metallic extremes that come with subdued melodics and full brutal elemental power. This is one trve Holy Metal Cow moment. Full metal jacket Elemental Binding in action.
So, if you’re up to some refined tech death, show them some metallic harsh love. Because, if their second EP here is any indicator, their upcoming full-length record will surely burn our socks off.
Just sayin’.
