It is their number 10 in over thirty years, right? Well, fuck me running. This feels like yesterday when we first started to listen to their sound.

And Hardwired…To Self-Destruct – managed through Metallica‘s vanity label Blackened Recordings – comes along some 8 years after their last full-length record. They are taking their sweet time, don’t they? But then, they always have.

We did not feature a helluva lot of Metalcore lately. Mainly because there was nothing juicy enough to emerge from the depths of this scream-laden genre. And frankly, many a band just does that: Throwing a skeletal version of a melody at the crowd and scream everyone into the dust. Not that this will in any way enhance their chance of winning the fluffy green muppet monster to impress their audience. Apart from the die-hard fans, that is.

Landscapes shrouded in fog. Mystic swamps filled with goblins, and dark terrifying forests that start at the Danish border.

Right? 

Well, not to my knowledge. But if you listen to some of the tunes breezing over to us from Daneland, one could believe it. 

Indeed last year, the stellar, but pitch dark Black Metal contribution of Myrkur appeared out of nowhere. And now Huldre comes along with songs from the twilight. And they even perform in a woody, leafy fashion on stage to top it. So, there you go, fits the forest theme, now does it? 

The fairies start flying once you start on Tusmørke!

The Italian band The Phoenix released their first EP My Turn To Deal in early 2016. The band now added a new clip called Party Hard to their portfolio.

And it absolutely rocks.

An all-female band, The Phoenix got to see the delights of this world for the first time back in 2011. They extensively toured Western Europe before releasing their first EP. The band is currently based in Rimini and San Marino.

They are:
Lena McFrison (lead guitar and vocals)
Alice Schecter (rhythm guitar and more vocals)
Luna RocketQueen (bass and even more vocals)
Giuli McMousse (drums)
