Cirith Ungol - Dark Parade - Album Cover

When Cirith Ungol returned from the happy defunct in 2020 with a new scorcher, we were torn. Forever Black had this oldish vibe, true. This metallic gene whence great Heavy Metal records spring. Yet again, at times, the piece sailed a tad too close to the age-old tropes Judas Priest and Rainbow pursued back in the ’80s. And that – with the monotonous and screamy vocal delivery – led to some discord over at the RMR review desk. But – CU‘s wares had a knack for keeping us fascinated to a point despite those annoying little elements that didn’t … [...] Click to raid more!

Vvon Dogma I - The Kvlt of Glitch - Album Cover

The RMR review pipe of early 2023 seems to attract all types of abstract or out-of-the-box pieces. Records that usually should not co-exist with all that metal over here. But somehow, they still do. Angus McSix - Angus McSix and the Sword of Power - Album Cover

Well, I guess for this one you need to leave your cheese filter at home and just let the record engulf you in its gluey embrace. This – thing is so smothered in various types of smelly goo, even the nerdiest of fantasy nerds will have trouble stomaching the new Angus McSix epos going by the ungainly title of Angus McSix and the Sword of Power.1 So, brace yourselves, a new fat slice of Gloryhammer dumbfoolery is heading your way. Merciless space lore with a Scottish flavor, filled with armed dinosaurs, fireflies of doom, and Sixcalibur, the … [...] Click to raid more!

Avaland - The Legend of the Storyteller - Album Cover

Avaland. The band already made a forceful appearance on this ‘zine with their debut album Theater of Sorcery. And back in 2021, this piece came somewhat as a surprise to us. The RMR crew expected some sort of a dime-a-dozen cheese-laden Power Metal piece. Instead, the meaty delivery and the musical acumen impressed us somewhat fierce. So, two years and many more PM records down the road, the band greets us with The Legend of the Storyteller.

And, I daresay, their credo of being a metal opera is now stronger than ever. This time, the band left … [...] Click to raid more!
