Sarke is a feisty one. Created by the man himself and fueled by Nocturno Culto of Darkthrone, this outfit is one of the quirkiest the RMR crew encountered in this metal multiverse of ours. And that means we’re all ears whenever the band lets loose with a new record.

Allsighr didn’t talk to us at first. But in time, the quirky ways of Sarke got into our metal bloodstream and took hold like one of those sneaky viruses. The RMR crew literally had to sift through 72 Seasons of Metallica‘s miscarriages of album art for them to finally hit a new low. We already suffered through things like the piss and blood covers on the Load / Reload series. But this one is the most awful vinyl sheath ever to appear on a metal album.1 I mean, scorched items, including a wrecked crib and miscellaneous instruments on a bright canary-yellow background. It’s jolly good that RockmusicRaider‘s scope is wider than the old gods allow. To cover metal, rock, and folk in one giant sweep indeed gives us leeway larger than the swagger of Mick Jagger. So, in this sense, we can easily take on pieces that were not forged in the steely metal mills that other reviewers oblige themselves to operate in.

Instead, we can freely go to those places where rock’n’roll is still dirty, blazing hot, and the lyrics are steamy. Of a time-tested brand that never really changes. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Back to the future! This is what comes to mind when listening to this newest concoction of our favorite rockers from AC/DC from down under. Similar to other albums, this really starts to sound like some Krokus production gone to Australia – some Hoodoo right there.

Cookie-cutter style, nicely built and very solid Hard Rock of the Heavy Metal kind, with down-to-earth riffs. Of which some of them seem to have matured some more since we last heard them in a studio album back in 2008.
