RockmusicRaider Review - IV: Stigmata - Album Cover

RockmusisRaider seems to be on the Power Metal train these days. It always amazes me that Cyprus seems to have this ability to churn out metal bands that keep on getting on my radar.

Arrayan Path is one of them and with their 2013 and 4th full-length record IV: Stigmata, they created another metal-laden delight that should for sure retain your attention.

I just did a review on Unleash The Archers, which pissed me off to no end. Reason being that these guys endlessly rehash the same already badly executed concept. And they won’t realize that it does not [...] Click to raid more!

How to best describe this?

Ah, yeah. The band calls it Heroic Fantasy Power Metal, no less. But it indeed feels like the beginning of the Kingdom of Cheese. This is what happens when a Scottish pirate and a Swiss cheese artist come together to form a band.

The debut of the mighty Gloryhammer called Tales from the Kingdom of Fife happens. That’s what!

Something is rotten in this record that has received mostly positives to date. When frankly, it is not all infinitive bliss. Yeah, you heard that one right: It is technically flawless, but looking at it as the sum of all parts? Not so sure.

Unleash The Archers perform a brand of Power and Speed Metal that is for sure not [...] Click to raid more!

Demise of the Crown Self Titled Album Cover

Discovering Canada is really something. Apart from the stunning countryside, Canadians display a generally more laid-back atmosphere than down South. Especially yonder the mighty border, if you get my drift. Neat cities and generally nice people, you will find a pretty good and very active metal community.

Power Metal outfits like Unleash the Archers, but also Demise of the Crown are part of this landscape. The latter just unleashed their self-titled and independent debut album beginning of March 2016.

A bunch of seasoned musicians1, they formed back in 2014 in Montréal getting on the Power Metal train [...] Click to raid more!
