RockmusicRaider Review - Overtures - Artifacts - Album CoverLooks like the Mediterranean is a fertile ground when it comes to #metal of all kinds. You got the island folks on Cyprus going strong, at least one very good one dwelling in Portugal, but then there is a very important community down South in Italy too. Overtures being one of them and they are rocking away from Gorizia, right on the border with Slovenia. The band is now ready to open the doors on their newest and third full length studio album Artifacts. To me this is – not quite surprisingly – about the most mature album they produced so far.

And does Artifacts deliver?

Intermittent Digest – Tome III

Howdy, fans and friends! Months have passed again way too fast since the last point of the situation (as we say in French) and already it is time to halt the horses again and take stock. The first full year @ RockmusicRaider – 2015 – has passed and we start to approach mid-year 2016. By Loki, things are moving fast and I am not getting younger. So, what happened since Tome II. I can say one thing: Dark, dark is the going, when the going gets tough.

Felt waves of Black or blackened Metal are coming our way. I am amazed – seems to be a sign of the times.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

Arrayan Path – IV: Stigmata (2013) – Review

HRockmusicRaider Review - IV: Stigmata - Album Coverere is one of the older records that I wanted to do for a while. RockmusisRaider seems to be on the Power Metal train these days. This time with island-infused #metal tea. It always amazes me that Cyprus seems to have this ability to churn out metal bands that keep on getting on my radar. Arrayan Path is one of them and with their 2013 and 4th full-length record IV: Stigmata they have created another #metal laden delight that should for sure retain your attention.

I just did a review on Unleash The Archers, which pissed me off to no end. Reason being that these guys endlessly rehash the same already badly executed concept.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

Arrayan Path – Chronicles of Light (2016) – Review

RockmusicRaider Review - Arrayan Path - Chronicles of Light - Album CoverArrayan Path have this uncanny knack to connect to you immediately and get you to continue listening to their tune. I am not exactly sure what causes this, but Chronicles of Light is certainly pretty powerful stuff, sprinkled with a lot of passion and authenticity. It is this extra kick that gets the reviewers attention for a record, even if the pipeline is desperately overflowing. Now, they just did exactly that to me with their 5th and newest album Chronicles of Light.

And it is this strange potion of Southern Mediterranean island-flavored #metal that did the trick. And the fact that the heavy influence of the excellent IV: Stigmata, their 2013 album, still persistently lingers at the back of my mind.Got hooked? Raid this some more...
