You do like your metal rough, black, and down and dirty, right?
Good. Meet Goholor. They just released their first and very short EP this January 2016 named In Saeculis Obscuris. And I can tell ya: It is intense. Refreshingly so and not for the faint at heart, with an energy that will not let you out of its clutches until the last note is squeezed out in the open.
The disk is perhaps a bit scratchy around the edges still and a tad repetitive, but getting there to the way such Black Metal concoctions with a Death Metal twist ought to be played. Kind of along the lines of Third Storm, whenever these guys play Black Metal and not other stuff.
And don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing light and airy about this first inkling of what the band actually can do. This is right down in the pit with the devil stabbing sharp objects at the poor you. And it better be that way with a record barely beyond 16 minutes of airplay.
Goholor – joining us from Slovakia – saw the light of day in 2010, with their first EP now out in the open.
The current lineup is Demo (Dimonsium Chaotic), Anton and Pio (Dimonsium Chaotic). The band is now working on new material for their first full-length album.
RockmusicRaider will be watching, they will be going places.
