RockmusicRaider - Dirty Sound Magnet - Live Alert

For long years, the RMR deck crew was not very fond of covers. Often, that song somebody else wrote turns out to be worse for wear. And some of them are truly pathetic. Ain’t it, Krokus1?

But then, along came a few bands that impressed us. Covers can actually be good, and some are even much better than the original. So, the tide against them copies of stuff other people already whelped once slowly changed.

Now, imagine you have a pandemic on your hands, a parallel universe of sorts. One that finds large parts of the … [...] Click to raid more!

When Scardust’s Sands of Time hit our shores in 2017, we knew that we had something special on our turntable. This was (and still is) one stellar piece of Progressive and Symphonic Metal that ultimately bubbled to the very top of RMR’s annual ten commandments of that same year. Now, I kinda nursed the idea to scrutinize the old prog rock masters some more and finally get some of ’em on the blog. But this project didn’t quite materialize yet, and boy do I … [...] Click to raid more!

Anaal Nathrakh - Endarkenment - Album Cover

I am using the word dense a lot lately. And that’s not meant in a bad way. The RMR deck crew recently took a liking to high-intensity, super-octane Extreme Metal records that will just blow you away by sheer force. Or at least try to. And – second – we have it with duos this year. Bands that only consist of two members. I have no explanation why 2020 turns out this way, but it does.

So, this time it is Anaal Nathrakh‘s time to shine. And before you grow yourself any silly ideas, the name means snake breath … [...] Click to raid more!
