Danheim – Heimferd (2025) – Review

Danheim - Heimferd - Album Cover

The RMR crew’s lately been to Cemican‘s idea of the Yucatan jungle. A rhythmically charged version of fetid metal and folk vibes in wild disarray. But the piece’s still alluring enough, sez I. The terrible war drums are present all over, after all. And that is always a good thing. However, Waldgeflüster‘s excursions into folky realms and back to metal mama didn’t quite sit too well with the Review Desk. A weird, helter-skelter production on a giant errand to pagan lands, which led to a mixed experience.

So, it’s time to make a point and descend into the … [...] Click to raid more!

Testament – Para Bellum (2025) – Review

Testament - Para Bellum - Album Cover

It’s almost funky to see how the n00b carousel over at the RMR office tower is starting to spin. Testament started their career in 1987, and boy, were we young then. This is a band of true heavy music pioneers, and they’ve been at it ever since, serving the sick urges of generations of metalheads.

So, here’s a band that – yet again – never even appeared on RMR’s roster. But there’s a first time for every act in this world, and that makes them a n00b over here. So, without judging their past, we’ll see what these greybeards will … [...] Click to raid more!

Elettra Storm - Evertale - Album Cover

Power Metal is on the menu, and it’s the Italian kind that took our fancy this time. And methinks they make them en masse over there, furnished ready to go with some built-in stereotypes already blearing. Fast, furious, but also easily recognizable.

Elettra Storm is the band’s name, and their 2024 record, Powerlords, must have sailed right past our review pipe. The act seems to be in a rush, too. They came into being in 2023, and already Evertale, … [...] Click to raid more!

Sabaton – Legends (2025) – Review

Sabaton - Legends - Album Cover

Hehe. The n00b machine has regurgitated a new candidate. Yet another established band that somehow never appeared on this zine. Sabaton is its name, and war-like tall tales are its game. They’ve been around for a long while and have been active at the outer fringes of the RMR aural perception. Same as their Viking brethren of Amon Amarth, these guys till the blood-soaked fields of conflict and merciless conquest. Only that Sabaton here are navigating modern waters more often than not. Whereas the latter praise the ferocious forces of the Norse. Y’know, the ones that endlessly ravaged … [...] Click to raid more!
