Cirith Ungol - Dark Parade - Album Cover

When Cirith Ungol returned from the happy defunct in 2020 with a new scorcher, we were torn. Forever Black had this oldish vibe, true. This metallic gene whence great Heavy Metal records spring. Yet again, at times, the piece sailed a tad too close to the age-old tropes Judas Priest and Rainbow pursued back in the ’80s. And that – with the monotonous and screamy vocal delivery – led to some discord over at the RMR review desk. But – CU‘s wares had a knack for keeping us fascinated to a point despite those annoying little elements that didn’t … [...] Click to raid more!

Jordsjø - Salighet - Album Cover

RMR management bestowed themselves with a project. One that will – apparently – never happen. And this is to cover the best cuts of the mighty Jethro Tull. One late night with rain hitting the roof, I set out to find some vile metal to rumble across my stomach and blur the screams in my head. Instead, I found a gem of a pig-headed version of folk. Galician Folk, to be precise. And same as Ljungblut‘s latest blurb, this offering feels like soothing balm spread on an often overly tortured soul. A record the band already released worldwide back in April and which will now get a vinyl facelift by 6 … [...] Click to raid more!

Anima Hereticae - Descended from the Mountains - Album Cover

Now that’s funky. The RMR crew just wasted some ink on Animae Haeretica, Apostolica’s latest Power Metal record. Thus, confusion reigned in our office suite when the band Anima Hereticae dropped their very own Extreme Metal record Descended from the Mountains with the same release date.

Oh boy. This is either one of Loki’s cosmic jokes or we got ourselves the evil twin from the adepts of the Metal o’ Darkness. Or is the apparent name-dropping just pure coincidence? Let’s find out.

Well, I think the sleepy ones of Insomnium better wake up. There’s a new gang on the … [...] Click to raid more!
