Ellende is on our minds a lot these days. Todbringerin is their newest record and it’s ear-catching. And to no-one’s surprise, it messed up our turntables for way too long. A style we have trouble resisting, even if the doom ‘n’ gloom can weigh heavily on one’s soul.

And speaking about which. Lo and behold, out of nowhere Weltenbrandt loudly made its presence known. Yet another band wallowing in the murky depths of an almost gothic sadboi melancholy that roars forth in some established blackened splendor. An underground band that only the initiated will recognize. But then, mainstream fame never … [...] Click to raid more!

Seth - La France des Maudits - Album Cover

Seth first crossed our hawse back in 2021 with their powerful ode to a burned church called La Morsure du Christ. Seethingly powerful Black Metal that roars forth on gritty French vocals. The inherent mystique and ungodly debauchery with its deadly siren song always seem to draw us near that particular black fire. It’s like this irresistible invitation out of the dark void from the Vampyre. Or, the deal with the devil, if you will. The invocation of dark spirits and worse daemons of the kinds even the horrible Aleister Crowley dared not speak of. In short, the RMR crew sports a driving force of trve dark souls with that strange blackened inhuman hunger.

Kvadrat - The Horrible Dissonance of Oblivion - Album Cover

The square. A magic symbol for times immemorial. An object that’s been revered not only in math but in many other mystical undercurrents that grew themselves some legs over the eons. And that’s how this band’s name – Kvadrat1 – immediately garnered some attention. And no, it wasn’t the killer artwork that made us pick up the piece this time. Much to the contrary, even if the 3D logo is kinda cool.

To define the quality of a record by the band name only would be silly, of course. From the moment The Horrible Dissonance of Oblivion struck our … [...] Click to raid more!
