Do you still remember Sult‘s terrible visage devoid of skin? You know, the totally terrified look of some unfortunate human being enduring atrocious torture and not knowing what comes next? Yes, that guy. Well, it looks like somebody just tried to cover this up and reconstitute the facial features. Only, they did a total fuck job and the scarred tissue ain’t pretty in its pinkish horror. Welcome to Bedlam. Scream at me, Kollapse. If you still can do so without a mouth, that is. It’s true that Porta Nigra‘s 2020 epos Schöpfungswut didn’t quite sync as well as it should with us. The record was one of those love/hate affairs. The godly theme was snazzy enough but – sometimes – the songwriting got stuck in a loop which didn’t quite help matters over at the RMR review desk.

We like them pig-headed and unhinged over here. Proud from the underground, unknown bands that reach us seemingly from nowhere. Complete with some delicious chaos that we will find difficult to describe and rate correctly.

Sanguine Glacialis have been around the block a few times, obviously. After all, the band started brandishing its wares since 2010 or so. They’re thus not necessarily unknown to the initiated. But they indeed sailed straight past the RMR sentinels with their somewhat confused 2018 piece Hadopelagic.
