You won’t believe how much the RMR crew dreaded the thought of the Irish gang Soothsayer having a sophomore moment. Back in 2021, the band’s debut full-length piece, Echoes of the Earth, didn’t sit too well with the grouchy geezers of the RMR Review Desk. And as we all know, the (dreaded) second record usually is the one when things settle for the worse.

Why on earth did Heilung change names, move to Ireland, and chant ever more weirdly around the soundscape? But it’s not Heilung, they’re still firmly lodged mostly in Scandinavia. And their chanting didn’t deteriorate either.1 Besides, their earthy lore ain’t the same style as this one here.
