Black Birch - Black Birch - Album Cover

The Swedes from Black Birch are one of those bands. Fresh off the press in December 2022, they started to release a bunch of singles that – I guess – should serve as an investment into the future. Some sort of small-format Henry Metal. You know, the guy who released eight bad-quality LPs between 2017 and 2018, and since then, nada.

So, BB here decided to release one new track a month in 2023 with this here new EP – supposedly – as a go-between of sorts. A confusing strategy that’s ascerbated by the missing cover for the EP … [...] Click to raid more!

Undergang - De syv stadier af fordærv - Album Cover

You know, some time ago we covered a band that somewhat overdid it in so many ways. One part of their sins was a totally overwrought interpretation of Death Metal. The RMR crew opined at that time that we occasionally love ourselves a good gurgle. But – of course – this must be done with mastery or all that phlegm-filled depravity will not be worth it. However, the band found a great replacement in the highly talented Todd La Torre back in 2012. And in time, the band managed to up the ante and produce material that seems to harken back in style and crispness to the olden golden days of this band’s glory.

Case in point, Tormentum – their newest video off their 2022 album Digital Noise Alliance – just dropped, and we … [...] Click to raid more!

Nanowar of Steel - Sober - Video Cover

RMR regulations strictly ban lyric video posts from publication on the ‘zine. And for cause. Low-budget clips like these won’t sport any stellar cinematography – at all. None, nada, zilch. And that is why, those won’t even warrant consideration. Usually.

But there’s always Nanowar of Steel to force an exception. After all, they’re the self-proclaimed masters of comedy – and they’re also good at it. After all, their Norwegian Reggaeton caused a lot of raucous uproar over here with its Latin tune and metallic antics. And the band got a few mentions from us on social media on a variety … [...] Click to raid more!
