Hells bells! We got ourselves another one of those bands thinking that a mere 27-minute airplay would melt the ice-cold metal hearts over at the RMR review desk.1 Usually, we’ll allow some leeway to punk records or some truly outstanding performance reaching us in short format. Yet, Allfather‘s A Violent Truth won’t hit any of those lofty standards, gruff fury and apparent eviscerations notwithstanding. And that means that this EP-ish piece here ain’t no candidate for an in-depth full review. Anger issues brutally untreated. ‘Soit’, as we say in French.

And what – at first – felt boring and bland, morphed into a potent almost overpowering impression of roaring silence. … [...] Click to raid more!

Crown of Madness - Elemental Binding - Album Cover

Do have a care, will ya? Binding elementals will work through strong magick only. And if it goes wrong, you’re so much scorched toast – or turned into a toad to croak upon the world until it or you finally disappear, whatever comes first. So, powerful metal will be needed to cast spells that will hold the forces of evil at bay.

And in come Crown of Madness with their snazzy brand of Technical Death Metal that continually reminded me of sins that Abiotic and the sick-to-god Archspire already committed some time ago. Exactly the kind of red-hot metal the … [...] Click to raid more!
