Newsflash: Lauren Babic has Too Much and Never Enough!

Lauren Babic - Too Much and Never Enough - Album Cover

Those who have followed the RMR zine for a while, probably discovered that we like the unexpected and the weird. Genre-benders that go out on a limb to stand out and shine. But only if the stuff they strut is well done and has some valor attached.

Meet Lauren Babic and her EP Too Much and Never Enough. She mixes synth-pop songs with some beatz and metallic musings. Something like Taylor Swift on speed from a dark and dystopian universe. Newsflash: Nebula Nine and The Last Sky Piercer!

Nebula Nine - The Last Sky Piercer - Album Cover

I found a new genre. Sublime Progressive Rock is its name and Nebula Nine adorned themselves with it. Already the word ‘sublime’ should melt on your tongue like that Café de Paris served on a perfect steak in a French 5-star eatery. Dreams of otherworldly rock delights that will surely dethrone the long-defunct Genesis of times long gone. Or others, such as Yes, Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant, King Crimson, the list goes on and on. Mea Culpa (‘Ah! Ca ira!’) – Gojira wins the metal battle over at the Grammies!

Gojira - Grammy Awards 2025 - Mea Culpa (Ah, ça ira)
© Grammy Awards 2025

It’s funny how things sometimes work out. Back in July 2024, Gojira together with opera singer Marina Viotti mounted a furious and pretty stellar metal attack based on the old revolutionary song Ah! Ca Ira! at the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics. RMR offered a few choice words not only for the outstanding performance of the musicians themselves but also for the often astonishingly disrespectful comments issued by the mainstream press and the somewhat creaky arrangement of the event.

Now much to this crew’s delight, Joe Duplantier‘s boyz, Viotti, and composer – Victor [...] Click to raid more!
