My Silent Wake - Lost in Memories, Lost in Grief - Album Cover

Lost in Memories, Lost in Grief. For a moment, the RMR crew was afraid that Rise to the Sky had awoken yet again with another round of endless noisy sorrow. Catalán is famous for bolstering his croaky doom with such headlines after all.

But fear naught, we’re dealing with Ian Arkley‘s My Silent Wake. A band that has been as versatile as it has become consistent on this zine. Doom ‘n’ gloom is their daily tear-drenched bread, true. But the records RMR covered to date were never really cut from the same cloth. Let’s face it, Gothic … [...] Click to raid more!

Sidus Atrum. The band that astonished the hell out of us back in 2022 when Spiral of Life suddenly hit our review pipe. The RMR crew was smitten right away by the elegant arrangement and pretty neat songwriting on offer. And, the piece made it onto the 2022 Top 10 Records. Deservedly so.

Rotting Christ - A Dead Poem - Album Cover

Rotting Christ, the band name from hell that haunted parents and religious bigots all over the world for the last 35 years or so. Yet, this band became a firm staple of this here zine. And we’re not done with it.

The band just announced a new record for this Year of the Dark Lord 2024, and it’s thus time to get yet another look at the past. Old, tasty slabs of early Extreme Metal that we haven’t quite savored yet. Metal wisdom from a time that didn’t sport too much metallic fare (yet). The 1997 piece A Dead [...] Click to raid more!
