Where is Ana? That was the quest the RMR deck crew and its captain embarked on when starting with All is Wrong of Ana and the Black Mamba. Because, for the life of us, the expected Amy Winehouse lookalike did not happen. ‘Tis a guy singing, right? And there’s no chick anywhere in any prominent position. For sure not in front of any microphone.

Is it fall yet? No, not quite. We are about to reach summertime. When the weather is nice, y’know, that kind of thing. I am mad today. Black, raging mad. Eyes turning dark and glowing, horns growing on my front kind of mad. A real cosmic rage of epic proportions is roaring through my dark veins.  

So, what better time to violate a few principles? Even if the mighty god of blogging sez that thou shalt not turn against his Sacred Rulez. Hoots! So, the first one stipulates that you should not review records older than a few months. And for sure not those of last year.

Sometimes theatrics are just part of the show, there’s nothing else to it. Or they can be part of a band’s DNA, out of which their style and lifeblood emerge. Just look at bands like Cradle of Filth, whose works would be rated much differently, were you to judge them by the music only. Yet – as it turns out – their on-stage and on-clip performance plays an almost equally important role in their fans’ perception.
