Voidchaser – Interstellar I (2026) – Review

Voidchaser - Interstellar I - Album Cover

RMR isn’t Prog Central, true. But the crew has visited its share of prog pieces of all couleur to at least have an inkling of the genre at large. The old geezers at the review desk fondly remember the times when Steven Wilson wasn’t yet the electronica dude, but did some real outstanding progressive work. Or when Haken’s animalistic urges blew us away with finely-chiselled technical artistry and pure savoir-faire. Caligula’s Horse visited a few times as well. Towers, an essay by The Machinist!

The Machinist - Towers - Album Cover

I know we brutally ignored them in 2025. The Machinist‘s sophomore album Contempt for Life kinda flickered about our peripheral vision last year. But it finally got nowhere near our review pipe. And we regret that. But, as always, hindsight is always 20/20.

That Lion’s Share already appeared on this zine in 2017 speaks for them, though. This was for a then-brand-new clip for their single, Another Desire. We reckon it will be the same track with this moniker on Inferno‘s Heavy Metal list. That’s impossible … [...] Click to raid more!

Green Carnation – A Dark Poem, Part II: Sanguis (2026) – Review

Green Carnation - A Dark Poem - Part II: Sanguis - Album Cover

A Dark Poem, Part I roared forth on sturdy wings of woe (too) late in 2025. A record that didn’t deny its roots to Doom Metal Central with pronounced progressive airs, and powerfully so. A piece full of poignant melancholy that took us by surprise first and then by storm. It did miss reaching superb levels by a fraction of an inch, though. And this was mainly due to inexplicable slowdowns and an undeniable lack of oxygen in certain spots.

So, barely a few months later, Green Carnation reappeared on our radar with more sadboi tunes. Rushing new records usually … [...] Click to raid more!
