Lacuna Coil – Sleepless Empire (2025) – Review

Nobody over here needs to be reminded who Lacuna Coil is. The band has been a staple of this zine for all its existence. At first, the RMR crew covered the somewhat conflicted mid-tens offerings such as Dark Adrenaline or – again – Broken Crown Halo.

Things started to improve by 2016 when the disturbing yet pretty excellent Delirium appeared out of nowhere. That one clearly marked a change in energy levels, posture, and attitude of a band finally capitalizing on their many talents. And this trend continued with the succulent Black Anima of 2019 that made it onto … [...] Click to raid more!

Kanonenfieber – Die Urkatastrophe (2024) – Review

Kanonenfieber - Die Urkatastrophe - Album Cover

A relatively large portion of RMR’s 2024 crop o’ records originates from the predominantly German-speaking part of the world. Bands like Ellende, Weltenbrandt, or again Agrypnie come to mind. Enforced started back in 2016 and continued to move full steam ahead, brutalizing everything and everyone in its path. So far, RMR never had the pleasure to welcome them to our roster. And the experience for this short blurb has been like witnessing a bunch of MOABs (Mother of All Bombs) in uncontrollable detonations. A thunderous delivery that made us sit … [...] Click to raid more!

Ha! Yet another candidate for the RMR n00bs section. Never too old to be one, you know. Dark Tranquility is yet another of these old metal warhorses that never made it onto the RMR review pipe. Thus, for us, they’re firstcomers despite the band’s undeniable contribution to the holy books of The Lore ov Metal. After all, they’ve been in business since 1991 – and continually so. And again, we shall look at Endtime Signals without regard to what came before.

It comes as no surprise that Dark Tranquility is insanely popular with grizzly metalheads and adepts of metal o’ … [...] Click to raid more!
