Would it be fair to say that the RMR crew likes its Black Metal as dark and ominous as the morning coffee? Indeed so. Or even blacker, if that can be had. Traditional, no-nonsense pieces usually find sustenance in the bosom of the RMR crew’s blackened souls. Those that stem from the harsh beginnings of a genre that was and often still is accused of devil worship and worse. And sometimes rightfully so.1 Yet, we’re not looking to find a copy/paste of Burzum or Bathory. It’s bands that spew their wares in a way to generate that sense of … [...] Click to raid more!

Ah, we are having a distinct Death Metal fest this year, methinks. Azaab just visited these pages with a novel concept not very long ago. A true visual metaphor for all those extreme things metal has on offer for us. But will the record head down the path of synth-laden tracks plagued by the terrible drum machine? Or will it wander about the well-trodden routes of traditional atrocities? I guess we’re about to find out.

And as is the custom this year, the RMR crew is looking for new contenders for the Malevolent 2022 Series. And here we have a … [...] Click to raid more!

There’s always ample opportunity to expand a ‘zine’s coverage. South Asia especially hasn’t seen a lot of metallic attention from the RMR crew. And it’s not for the lack of trying, of course. By long-standing policy, it does not really matter where the material originates from,1 it’s the quality that counts.

So, here we got ourselves the first band from Pakistan ever that made the cut for the RMR review pipe. You know, that list of unfathomable depths, almost as complicated and mysterious as the Vatican archives. On top of all that, the band sports a name like a … [...] Click to raid more!
