Frozen Crown - Call of the North - Album Review

Frozen Crown floated about the outer edges of our recordscape for a few years. And yet, their wares never quite connected with the cranky folks over at the review desk. But I’d like to stress that Frozen Crown‘s earlier records – The Fallen King, Crowned in Frost, and Winterbane – got duly checked out nonetheless.

So, Call of the North came along somewhat at the last minute. And once it hit our music machine over here, we just kinda sat there in a trance. It was one of those rare Holy Metal Cow moments. This record indeed … [...] Click to raid more!

And this sets the bar at lofty heights for those who wish to grab some of the stardom that this worn-out genre still has to offer in 2023. So, will Crom deliver a lesson in mind-blowing … [...] Click to raid more!

Arrayan Path - Thus Only To Tyrants - Album Cover

2022 was a pretty proliferate year for Power Metal. A remarkable number of records made it onto our review roster, some with pretty excellent fare, others – well – didn’t quite convince.

So, into this lusty fray, Arrayan Path decided to add yet another of their records. The RMR review committee actually vowed to abandon the quest to wring some sense out of this band’s musings. You know, those Power Metal folks from Cyprus that will drive Kiske to tears with their cheese-dripping fare.

Now, the 2020 piece The Marble Gates to Apeiron didn’t quite impress us1[...] Click to raid more!
