RockmusicRaider Newsflash - All Else Fails - The False Sanctuary - Album Cover

Okay, it is Punk Rock, but a hefty dose of it. No, actually this disk is so Progressive Metal, Frozen Sand just got themselves a partner in crime. Hell no all over again, ’tis Metalcore, like from Finland of all places.

But I must beg to differ again. The False Sanctuary from the Canadian band All Else Fails is all of the above. I have rarely heard a band that managed to marry all these styles together in quite such a comprehensive and alluring fashion. Not to forget that – usually – the RockmusicRaider deck crew does not exactly [...] Click to raid more!

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Doc Rotten - Sick & Suffering - Album Cover

It is insane, Doc Rotten continually remind me of old, pugnacious punk bands. A hint of The Pogues, raw and without the latter’s Irish veneer. A sip of grunge straight from Nirvana, and the brutality of the Sex Pistols.

And then this uncanny resemblance to old punk rock glories somehow got mixed up with some early Green Day in a sick kinda way. RockmusicRaider Review - Infected Syrens - Self-Titled - Album Cover RockmusicRaider already covered a number of bands from Cyprus. Blynd or again Arrayan Path come to mind – to name just two. And they are sinners. You don’t think they are? They are, for sure. Vile, rotten language. Spitting about the stage. Loud, brutal and fast guitar play with reckless abandon. Rebellious, ruthless screaming of vocals in a staccato voice seemingly reaching us from the past, straight [...] Click to raid more!

Newsflash: Should the Killing Volts say yes?

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - The Killing Volts - Why Should I Say Yes - Album Cover Geez, it is a long time that I have not heard that kind of groove. But here it is: A full load of grunge-flavored, intense Punk Rock hardly seen these days this side of NirvanaAnd it does my ears good after all these disks with high pitched metal that just whipped through the RockmusicRaider office floor.

The Swiss band The Killing Volts brandishes this nonchalant, don’t-give-a-shit style that is so very important to their trade. Their decidedly short, but nevertheless juicily powerful EP Why Should I Say Yes will relentlessly drive this point home for every second of [...] Click to raid more!
