How do you lure good ol’ RMR into writing a review? Well, send a bunch of out-of-this-world psych tracks and strange noisy objects garnished with an unspeakable record title to us. That’s how. Nomen est omen, right? The act’s called Idiot Robot.1 And I daresay, the moniker’s spot on with the duo’s new concoction called Anti Pop Culture. The RMR crew let that one grind on our mighty music system from time to time over the last months. And each time it got brutally scuttled at about halfway through the tracklist.

The islanders are at it again. Earlier this year, RMR covered Aeons‘ latest full-length The Ghosts of What We Knew. A powerful and very good record that garnered pretty sturdy criticism nonetheless. A few weeks ago, I suffered through a shiny mainstream object that everybody was salivating about. And in that process, I started to yearn for some trve underground sound. Rough-hewn rock and metal that scratches down my back like Freddy’s terrible claw. Blood drawn from riffs on steroids and burnt by lava-hot rock ‘n’ roll. That kind of thing.
