Obscurity – Ascheregen (2026) – Review

Obscurity - Ascheregen - Album Cover

Trollzorn Records are always good for a metal surprise or two. In 2025, they steadily fed us German underground fare and landed two hits onto our roster, Bergthron and Thorondir. That’s not a bad crop to reap on a webzine like ours with limited firepower and crew members beset with bad taste and terrible decision-making urges.

So, it looks like the RMR crew will get moar German roar as 2026 finally takes off to tastier shores. And this time it is meaty Death Metal with blood dripping still from its recently dissected innards. Raw and furious, that’s kinda what … [...] Click to raid more!

Yet, it is also true that this olde record may fit best in RC’s current narrative, which they tried to push since Rituals hit our turntables.

So, here, in 2026, the RMR crew went on a rampage, comparing the original record with this rerecorded one. And we have two main takeaways. The first is that Aealo

Aeon Gods – Reborn to Light (2026) – Review

Aeon Gods - Reborn To Light - Album Cover

Power Metal hasn’t been on the menu yet for this early 2026. So, it’s high time to get another one out into the open that recently struck our fancy. 2025 had a good run with them. The offerings of DarkTribe, Helloween, or – again – Moonlight Haze seriously destroyed some of our loudspeakers over here. But – all of those were comparatively ‘serious’ pieces run by bands taking good care not to slather unwanted fat ‘n’ sugar everywhere.

So, the RMR crew went a-searching for that new over-the-top exuberant record, magnanimously plastering cheese wherever they shouldn’t. Aeon Gods[...] Click to raid more!
