Hehe! RMR is moving out of the moldy underground sump of our review pipe into the bright-lit realm of Metal o’ the Light. But fear naught, it will only be for a short while and we will be back.

The RMR clip scouts stumbled across Feuerschwanz and their new video Bastard von Asgard. Meaning, ’tis their second appearance on this ‘zine – and that is quite a dastardly feat for a parody band to pull off over here. But then, Feuerschwanz proved to be more metal than some of those other overly silly funny bunnies out there.

2022 already whipped up a pretty good crop of whatever Extreme Metal is capable of. Especially, Black Metal made a comeback with the folks over at Kampfar usurping the numba 1 spot on the RMR Top 10 Records list.

Now, since 2023 got underway we didn’t stop searching for those nuggets. With some great results and one specimen that almost fell through the cracks.

Avaland. The band already made a forceful appearance on this ‘zine with their debut album Theater of Sorcery. And back in 2021, this piece came somewhat as a surprise to us. The RMR crew expected some sort of a dime-a-dozen cheese-laden Power Metal piece. Instead, the meaty delivery and the musical acumen impressed us somewhat fierce. So, two years and many more PM records down the road, the band greets us with The Legend of the Storyteller.

For those not in the know, the RMR crew started a series catering to metal mainstream bands that never quite made it onto the ‘zine. For some reason, the powers that be over at the RMR office tower decided that the ignored ones needed some unwanted attention.
