Apocalypse & Chill, right?

Today, on 15 February 2021, Delain announced that they will disband. Or – at least – the outfit will cease to exist in the form known to the music industry for many years. This sounds like that apocalypse theory the band so vividly touted in their last album. And now it is also time to chill because Delain will not end its existence. But the band will – in a manner of speaking – morph into another entity.

It looks like the City of Calvin in Switzerland is a haven for Extreme Metal. I am sure that this would rub Mr. C the wrong way. But – alas – he’s gone for some time. And now there’s all that metal debauchery rampant in the streets of this lake-bound city with nobody to quell the surge.

Debauchery? Hell, no. If anything, you’ll find some serious guitar prowess around those dark corners. And Singularity will deliver its fair share, make no mistake. Stortregn really pulls that pedal to the metal right from the beginning. But more to that later.

Who would have thought that Feuerschwanz would ever appear on this blog? And for a metal clip, no less.

But the Black Metal version of their 2018 piece Schubsetanz was just irresistible. You see, the original is downright silly, yet this one gets you a perfect parody of Black Metal and its worst antics.

Ah, yes. The blood-soaked, often ice-cold lands of the Japanese isles. Rich in history and home to many a myth, martial arts, and intricate rules that are hard to fathom by our mushy Western minds.
