The good ol’ warcry again rang out after too much metal ravaged our ears somewhat fierce lately. There’s a ton of Grunge Rock outfits out there. Most of them wanting a slice of the long-gone masters of all time. The band that somehow became the stick by which everything with the grunge label needs to be measured.

The vast universe of Power Metal is populated by all sorts of strange folk. And sometimes I wonder why that is. Okay, I get their penchant for fantasy tales, but – boy – sometimes things move way too far into Lalaland. You get the unicorns in space, the beer guzzlers, them screamo dudettes on a mission1, or – again – the sweetish fondue makers.

You might have guessed it. It is time to, yet again, descend into the darkened pit of diabolical lore and corpses BBQed on glowing tridents. On the menu are Vulture Lord, the band that remained without a major release for some 18 years since their second full studio record hit the airwaves. To top all that, this band pretty much is a leftover of the old Scandinavian Black Metal lore. After all, they did start in 1995 or so.
