Boy, there’s some wheeler-dealer stuff going on. We just heard some proggy news about Wheel from Finland, which didn’t quite make it onto our review pipe yet.

But suddenly, we get those doomy vibes from Germany. And indeed, we got ourselves yet another Wheel on the menu. One with that distinct early Doom Metal flavor. And they ain’t even coming from the US. And that’s almost heresy these days.

Do you know why I kinda stopped looking at Khemmis and – for sure – Pallbearer? They’re great musicians, sure. But somehow, they never quite hit the vibe of the … [...] Click to raid more!

The band may start with a wee bit of acoustics at first. Might. But then they just stomp their tariff right into your earphones and grab whatever energy you possess. Then they pummel you with their limitless riffing prowess, growl at you relentlessly, and spit you out undigested once the record is … [...] Click to raid more!

Moonspell – Hermitage (2021) – Review

RockmusicRaider - Moonspell - Hermitage - Album Cover

Do you know what I like about Moonspell? They always deliver something new on every record. I often think back to the quietly aggressive desperation on Extinct or the delicious menace on Night Eternal.1 1755 was a bit more touchy, yet the idea to do an album in Portuguese without clear vocals was quite a feat. Because, earthquake centuries ago, you know.

Insinuations and rumors have it that the band may not continue for much longer. And that’s not necessarily something I fancy to hear. Because this band’s dark and melancholy ways have very much become part … [...] Click to raid more!
