Oops, it almost happened again. We just about overlooked Abyss, the latest album from Unleash the Archers. Already the pretty juicy Apex suffered some serious delay from the merciless hands of the RMR deck crew. Now this time we caught it, fortunately.

As you may know, we didn’t like it one iota once time stood still. Yet the aforementioned predecessor to this album gave us hope. The overblown theatrics and this multidimensional screaming ceased1, and in came some substance.

Surma‘s The Light Within was indeed not really on the menu for this … [...] Click to raid more!

This was (and still is) one stellar piece of Progressive and Symphonic Metal that ultimately bubbled to the very top of RMR’s annual ten commandments of that same year. And those are some mighty big shoes to fill for any follow-on record.

So, along came Strangers in this unholy year of 2020. Now, I admit that – at first – we got a little hot under our collar. Because a first spin did not quite deliver that warm and … [...] Click to raid more!
