What can I say, we can’t help it. Our revolutionary genes kicked in yet again in 2024. Rulez have been broken and oldish content was covered with abandon. Well, the sinning wasn’t quite that severe. But the selection of Blasts from the Past is kinda juicy nonetheless, ranging from Prog geekery to brvtish metallic wiolence. The kind of thing that will keep you entertained and your hackles up at the same time.

Rotting Christ, the band name from hell that haunted parents and religious bigots all over the world for the last 35 years or so. Yet, this band became a firm staple of this here zine. And we’re not done with it.

The band just announced a new record for this Year of the Dark Lord 2024, and it’s thus time to get yet another look at the past. The Black Album came first in the ’90s, which was also the first one Bob Rock produced. This was a time when Metallica started to see the light. That they could not just scream about the stage forever, and stay at the same decent levels of fan support. Much to the dismay of one James Hetfield, it seems, judging by some of his remarks that still float about the YouTube multiverse.

As I am in the Within Temptation groove, let’s stay there for a while. It would be a pity not to review their very first record Enter of 1997. And that, after the band officially assembled about a year earlier.

The band formed just after the departure of Sharon den Adel from her usual work routine as a fashion designer, I kid you not. That’s one smart girl with a creative streak.
