Fossilization - Leprous Daylight - Album Cover

Welcome to the world of metal extremes where everything has stalled in frozen beauty. Stony silence in fossilized cold-hearted embrace. Pictures taken from times immemorial back when the first metal dinosaurs roared about the landscape. Witnesses of a dreary world before Metal o’ The Light took over with squeaky clean alloy. A place where only sickly light drips into its eternal darkness and ominous phlegm-filled noises escape.

Behold the Leprous Daylight that the deathly ones of Fossilization freely dispense. Back to the roots!

Alright, this is a debut record, believe it or not. One that reaches us straight from the … [...] Click to raid more!

Porta Nigra - Weltende - Album Cover

It’s true that Porta Nigra‘s 2020 epos Schöpfungswut didn’t quite sync as well as it should with us. The record was one of those love/hate affairs. The godly theme was snazzy enough but – sometimes – the songwriting got stuck in a loop which didn’t quite help matters over at the RMR review desk.

So, BB here decided to release one new track a month in 2023 with this here new EP – supposedly – as a go-between of sorts. A confusing strategy that’s ascerbated by the missing cover for the EP … [...] Click to raid more!

Ars Moriendi - Lorsque les coeurs s'assèchent - Album Cover

Ars Moriendi, the art of dying. Many a band already used that striking phrase to name a track, the recently reviewed record of Sanguine Glacialis being the last addition to the RMR ‘zine. But a handful of them out there embraced this moniker as their own. And that’s pretty heavy if you consider the sinister and morose meaning of the phrase. Visions of doom, damnation, and French-tainted brutalities? Ars Moriendi – gruesome roadways ahead.

Arsonist‘s1 one-man outfit never made it onto our review pipe. Previous records must have sailed straight past its murky entrance and never returned. … [...] Click to raid more!
