You know, some time ago we covered a band that somewhat overdid it in so many ways. One part of their sins was a totally overwrought interpretation of Death Metal. The RMR crew opined at that time that we occasionally love ourselves a good gurgle. But – of course – this must be done with mastery or all that phlegm-filled depravity will not be worth it. What about – some Brutal Death Metal lost in translation with Technical Death Metal? The folks over at the RMR review desk are big fans of Heavy Metal. Yes, THAT genre again. The one that’s refusing to die with age-old bands still thriving on it to this day. And some of them are still stadium fillers, believe it or not. But there’s not only the old geezers still out there, you also find pretty good young guns hard at work to keep things alive.

We like them pig-headed and unhinged over here. Proud from the underground, unknown bands that reach us seemingly from nowhere. Complete with some delicious chaos that we will find difficult to describe and rate correctly.

Sanguine Glacialis have been around the block a few times, obviously. After all, the band started brandishing its wares since 2010 or so. They’re thus not necessarily unknown to the initiated. But they indeed sailed straight past the RMR sentinels with their somewhat confused 2018 piece Hadopelagic.
