We weren’t on time to catch the last spaceship leaving for the galaxy. Our review for Tiit, Sun of the Suns‘ latest exploration drive, roared out of our gates a few months later than it should have. And more’s the pity, because this was excellent and brutal fantasy fare for a debut album.

The RMR crew liked this metaphor of the red door. The entrance you never want to use, but some compulsive urge takes you there no matter what. It is a bit like this overused Hotel California theme1 of long times past. You can run, but you can never leave, that kind of thing. And wherever you go, suddenly you see that red door appearing out of the poisoned mist. Do you remember the age-old movie The Shining? ‘Xactly, there is a feeling of dread with them doors, colored any which way, that you should never enter.

The Reticent is known to wallow deeply in the rough seas of mental disturbances. Already, On The Eve of a Goodbye got us a taste of suicidal urges brought to fruition and the aftermath experienced by those left with the living. The Oubliette broke the news about Alzheimer’s in intricate detail. And I could relate to that, given that I have been relentlessly exposed to both issues. Not first hand, mind you. I wouldn’t be writing reviews, else. But close enough to get a real taste of the inner workings of them.

DarkTribe – Forgotten Reveries (2025) – Review

Should we let you in on a dark secret? DarkTribe‘s last record, Voici L’Homme, never quite synced with us. Apart from the pretty snazzy title track, the piece was a true struggle to review. Meaning, well-elaborated but always kinda bland in nature, the record was always one small step away from generating a rant. Which, in all honesty, it did not deserve.
