Chameleons rule. Small lizards prone to sneak about trees, to look at you weirdly, and change color whenever it suits them. The terror of insects of any kind – one hit of their sticky tongue and their victims are history. Well, that’s the animal kingdom.

But you find them not only there, but also with our brethren in Rock and Metal. Perhaps not as deadly, but for sure very capable to shed skins and change color at a moment’s notice.

At times my metal-sore ears just give up the ghost and are in dire need of something more melodious and less harsh. So, there is no better treatment than slapping some progressive and alternative Band-Aid on them.

And indeed, the RMR deck crew finds that those undercurrents finally take on some steam. Luckily so, as the officescape kind of worried about what was about to come still in 2017. Apart from blackened pieces of scorched metal, of which there is plenty these days. Yet still, some doubts persist on what exactly is to come.

The old provinces of Eastern Germany seem to be a hotbed for interesting bands of all kinds. Indeed of all things cultural – and beyond. And this goes for theatrical endeavors as well as music of all flavors. 

The RMR crew had the pleasure to cover special underground bands like Antyra from Leipzig already. You know, these guys with their rough and eerily weird, yet fascinating story-telling techniques. Let’s hop on a time machine. Back to the rocking ’70s, where the groove ran high and times were wild. A different brand of wild, compared to today, mind you. Where scratchy lyrics and lo-fi sounds were all the rage. 

Then, throw in some Southern Rock for good measure. Oh, and break out those jeans, will ya. You know, the ones with them wide tubes and flowers stitched onto them.

That groovy enough?
