RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Tragul 2018Same as the dreaded Henry MetalTragul ramped up their presence ever more during 2017. Only that this particular band took a much more interesting route. The newly formed outfit decided to forego the usual treadmill and to release every 1-2 months a new video, but no album. A kind of a drip feed to the hungry masses addicted to your soundbites, which – in itself – is an interesting concept.

In a few short months their style morphed from an electronically tainted and symphonically challenged Sirenia offshoot to Symphonic Metal with a pretty [...] Click to raid more!

Scardust – Sands of Time (2017) – Review

RockmusicRaider Review - Scardust - Sands of Time - Album CoverProgressive Metal is an European affair. Right? This is what the Europeans think at least. And this annoys many American bands to hell and back. But the EU prog nerds have a point. There’s just no real cool prog that emanates from across the pond anymore. The only thing we seem to get these days is preposterous news about how their government behaves itself. Okay, you will find exceptions like the excellent Moon Haven that RMR just recently reviewed. But of course not nearly enough to counter the same-same, but different legion that likes to dominate the genre. So, luckily we have some exceptions.

Now, these guys state their influences to be Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica and Leaves’ [...] Click to raid more!

RockmusicRaider Review - Diabulus in Musica - Dirge for the Archons - Album CoverOften in the #metal universe a new album is somewhat of a Pandora’s Box. Or the bottle with the genie that once released won’t fit back into it. Now, I had somewhat of an issue with Argia last time we looked at Diabulus in Musica. And the juicy comments from some punks from the Ministry of Love to get lost over it were interesting too.

The dreary black career cliff a band must navigate around usually looms at the sophomore effort. With Diabulus in Musica it was the junior record that got them to this [...] Click to raid more!
