Kamelot‘s 2023 piece The Awakening already gave us that notion of a much refined piece of metal, produced with nary a hair out of bounds. Tidbits of metal music that this crew already heard somewhere before, revamped, and served with gusto. Kinda, sorta what The Awakening‘s predecessor already had in store. Back in time, a sort of an infinity mirror on its journey to nowhere. This syncs with the progression of Magick Metal Sorceresses or something on Kamelot‘s covers in various poses. The perpetrators active in a mix of Symphonic and Power Metal often have trouble deciding which way to turn. Nightwish or – again – Epica are good examples, albeit that they tend more to their symphonic parts. Kamelot are another band where this rings pretty much true. The RMR crew was always impressed by the pretty flawless productions that this band projected into their various albums. And so far they shoved their Power Metal urges into the limelight more prominently than other intruding styles. But this may be about to change.

The RMR deck crew likes tunes that kind of fall off the mighty freight train of the vile mainstream. Stuff that we somehow cannot classify, or would otherwise ignore. These are the things that all of a sudden haunt this office suite and won’t let go.

Or then again, things that dwell somewhere in the twilight zone of the metal multiverse. Those bands whelping records that you know are good, but you are not quite sure why.

I already stated once upon a time that I was pretty much done with Symphonic Metal. You might have heard that from me. Then Delfinia happened, and I found myself with egg on my face.

So, the RMR deck crew’s ‘new’ approach became a trifle more careful.

And it goes somewhat like this: If anybody can deliver a chunk of Symphonic Metal that is so good, it might unhorse biggies like Nightwish, then I want to know about it. Ha, there you go, destiny. I got you good this time. No more egging poor, old RMR.
