RockmusicRaider Review - Xaon - The Drift - Album CoverThe RockmusicRaider officescape likes drama. Especially a loud drama with a lot of boom and bang. And we have remarkable drama queens around the Gothic and Symphonic Metal universe, blackened and death-oriented ones included. Just think about Dimmu Borgir or Fleshgod Apocalypse to name just two of them.

Now, here we can add another one: The Swiss outfit Xaon rumbles onto the scene like Mad Max on a bad day. They already gave us a first broadside of what they can do in 2016 with their EP Face of Balaam. And they are back with a hammer blow of a record disguised beneath a simple and almost nihilistic art cover in blue and gray shades.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

RockmusicRaider Review - Tethra - Like Crows for the Earth - Album CoverAh, yes! The early signs point towards a more abundant reappearance of Progressive and Doom Metal in 2017. The Italian band Tethra with their sophomore full length offering Like Crows For The Earth comes along with an interesting style package. The band saw the dreary and tear-drenched mists of this mortal coil for the first time in 2008.Got hooked? Raid this some more...

RockmusicRaider Newsflash - Banned From Hell - Fall of Humanity - Album CoverYou know, sometimes a tune just sticks like mud on a wall. And this just so happened with the Italian band Banned From Hell and their second album Fall of Humanity, signed to Sliptrick Records. The description says Horror Metal and this, too, got my attention. And indeed, there is this hint of master Dracula sitting in the great hall playing on his organ from hell. Whilst waiting for his next victim to arrive.

But what have we got ourselves?

Complex, meaty riffs and solos mixing with a Scandinavian flavored slab of Melodic Death Metal. Throw in some deathcore elements and mix with Progressive Metal from the dark side of the moon.Got hooked? Raid this some more...
