I won’t hide it from you. The RMR crew had severe issues with some parts of atmospheric doom, blackened or not. Specifically with bands that wasted our time with useless shenanigans that add zero value to the overall offering. And these still get our mutual blood boiling all over again – even after all that time.1 So, we kept our ears out of that particularly odd corner of the extreme metal multiverse for a while. Because somehow, this ‘thing’ almost always collided with good metal craftsmanship so far.

I’ll be damned. A version of Sidus Atrum of the afterlife with a few squirts of Final Coil’s latest EP just appeared on the RMR review pipe. And that’s something we’ve trouble resisting. Besides, the RMR crew likes nothing more than extracting a totally unknown band from that smelly swamp full of rocky and weedy metallic objects. Up and into the light, so they may shine by themselves and either disintegrate or move on to greater things beyond this ‘zine’s measly reach.

The RMR crew over here fancies those records with that ‘Out of the Box’ label. Pieces that are difficult to categorize and even more difficult to review. Looks like we prefer a complicated life over here. But just serving the mainstream hasn’t exactly been a match in heaven for this crew. At least for the folks over at the RMR office tower.
