What a wealth of good records that came online in 2019. This year is – again – proof that the Folk, Metal, and Rock genres are still vibrant and very much alive. This is especially refreshing for rock and metal, where many an antagonist likes to declare the death of them – like every other day or so. But hey, the naysayers were proven wrong.

It has been a whopping eight months or so since the latest Intermittent Digest released on this blog. In the meantime, we were busy as bees and looked at scores of new records. RockmusicRaider - Dark Mirror Ov Tragedy - The Lord Ov Shadows - Album Cover Why is it that these Extreme Metal outfits always have that need to wear out their drummer? Overly elaborate drum patterns will just work them into a heart attack.

Just watch some of the videos that start with the stick wielder and their pained expression. So far I have seen none really with a heavenly smile on their faces. And to add insult to injury, I openly heard some bands joking about that, by the way.
