Maziac‘s last EP Permutations seriously got on our good side. The UK-based band truly excelled in this mix somewhere between Heavy Rock and Progressive Metal. A short yet intensive demonstration of that band’s already impressive musical prowess.
Now they’re on the prowl again with a new video to boot. Acid gets us another highly technical track of pretty masterful prog mixed with Heavy Rock. It’s – in itself – a typical Maziac creation and a straight continuation from their former piece.
The clip with its downturned orange-colored and cartoon-styled action is a funky one, though. Some sort of a story of acid rain that seems hellbent to destroy the suffering protagonist on his flight through bone-dry deserts from imaginary aches and pains. An onslaught that comes together with fire and atmospheric fury that even a medieval castle is unable to withstand. That’s quite a storyline and – at times – it felt like planet Venus in another dimension.
Mental health problems pictured against a backdrop of a kind of purgatory for climate change sinners? We don’t quite know, of course, but the outcome is a snazzy one. I missed those little devils chasing the poor guy with sharpened tridents, though.
So, are you up for some acid-drenched action? Video’s below. But – hit that button after you put on those protective gloves, something nasty might already ooze out. Just sayin’.
