I admit, we do like bands that somehow navigate outside of the proverbial box. Those that will point their music to wherever their artistic urges take them. A journey that gets us to unexpected soundscapes that we did not hear often before. Or never at all.

So – in this light – it is not that we forgot about Karma Rassa and their 2018 record Vesna…Snova Vesna. The time just had to be right to get our juices flowing for such an eclectic Progressive Rock and Metal album.

Multi-talents. Masters of all trades, and jacks of none. There have been some real ones throughout the vast swathes of time. Oh, damn. I forgot to get to the cheese shop and procure myself a dose of fondue. You know, molten cheese with bread, imbibed with white wine and lots of garlic. Because you will be in need of a few (many) mighty cosmic bites of this excuse to eat bread with cheese.

If you are to survive Gloryhammer‘s latest space epic Legends from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex, that is. At least judging by their last record they unleashed onto the unsuspecting fan crowd.

If you think that NordWitch is blackened enough for your taste, then you never heard about Concilivm and their brand of Blackened Death Metal. They joined this unholy world in 2017 and are now re-issuing their 2018 blurb The Veiled Enigma on CD. 

This is one typical underground band from Chile that sets its sights on the old-style groove of long-gone times.
